The state regular school “Am Rennsteig” Tambach-Dietharz benefits from a strong economy in the district of Gotha.
That’s why we have made it our goal to give all students a great insight into the world of work, and for this we were recognized in 2014 by the Ministry of Education of the Free State of Thuringia as a career-friendly school. We owe that to all our partners in the communities of Tambach-Dietharz and Georgenthal and last but not least to our teachers.

He describes our school as: “We are a small school in the Forest of Thuringia with a dedicated teaching team. Our students which are not from Germany are well integrated into the school life – everyone knows everyone and most of the students enjoy leraning at our school.”

Projekte

In grade 7, the foundation for future pre-employment projects is laid with the preparation of a career choice pass.

In grades 7 and 8, the Föbi training center in Gotha is regularly visited and other professional fields such as gastronomy or care are presented in more detail.

Our students have the opportunity to learn more about bionics at the school research center in Waltershausen. The student research center supports students and their supervising teachers in the implementation of projects in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (MINT). In doing so, we are laying the foundation for a future-oriented student body that is interested in STEM subjects.

From the 9th grade, the careers adviser Ms. Hofmann from the “Bundesagentur für Arbeit” is available to provide great support in finding and applying for a training place. The consultations with the respective pupil take place during school hours.

The coordinator Mr. Barth from FAV Gotha supports you in finding an internship or creating application folders. This mainly supports students who do not speak German as their mother language.

The creation of application folders is trained with the German teacher and English teacher in our modern computer room.

In the 9th grade, the applicant day plays a large and important role in choosing a career. In 2022, 58 companies from the district of Gotha and the surrounding area were present and presented a total of 11 commercial professions, 24 technical professions, 31 other professions from a wide variety of areas (including care and social professions) and 4 dual courses of study / dual training. The applicant day will also take place in the Gotha town hall in the future.

The careers information center is an information center of the Federal Employment Agency and offers information on training occupations, choice of studies and later further training opportunities. This offer is taken up by the 9th graders.

In der Klassenstufe 9 werden 2 Praktikumswochen vorgegeben, die dann in einem Betrieb oder einer staatlichen Einrichtung nach der Wahl des Schülers/der Schülerin verbringen dürfen und so einen tieferen Einblick in das bevorstehende Berufsleben bekommen. Der Betrieb oder die staatliche Einrichtung ist dabei auf den Bereich des Landkreises Gotha begrenzt.
In der Klassenstufe 10 wird eine Praktikumswoche vorgegeben, die dann ebenfalls in einem Betrieb oder einer staatlichen Einrichtung nach der Wahl der Schülerinnen und Schüler verbracht, jedoch darf diese auch im Ausnahmefall außerhalb des Landkreises Gotha liegen (nicht bundesweit).

In grades 9 and 10, various training fairs in the district of Gotha are attended. Among other things, the training fairs in the vocational school center “Hugo Mairich” or in the “Goldberghalle”.
